D.A.R.E. America's D.A.R.E. Dance Director

While studying psychology and pre-medicine at Georgetown University (1991-1995), Jill furthered her exploration and love for dance by co-directing the Georgetown University Dance Company.
After college and while working full-time as the Director of Dean’s Affairs at the School of Business at Georgetown University, Jill remained active in dance by teaching tap and jazz to children and adults at Joy of Motion and Holton Arms School, as well as serving as Chairman of the Board and Founder and Director of the Soles of Steel Dance company at Joy of Motion.
Jill has also performed in and has choreographed for various D.C. and national dance projects, including the 1999 D.C. Tap Festival, a Tae Bo Dance demonstration with Billy Blanks and several D.C. area theater productions including The Arlington Player’s Damn Yankees, JeRM’s Evita, A Chorus Line and Three Penny Opera and Georgetown’s Chicago, Nunsense and Something’s Afoot. In addition, Jill has performed with D.C. dance companies, Jazzdanz.dc and CityDance Ensemble.
In September of 1999, Jill became the Founder and Director of the D.A.R.E.® America Dance Program, a nation-wide after-school program established to bring dance into high-risk schools as a positive alternative to drugs and gang violence.
In December of 2000, Jill took on a larger role with D.A.R.E. as National Director of after-school programs (D.A.R.E. P.L.U.S.), and of The National Youth Advisory Board.
In Jill’s free time, she volunteered at the Lombardi Cancer Center, in Washington D.C., working with patients through dance therapy, and staff in a weekly “stress reduction” stretch/movement class.
In 2004, Jill moved to Los Angeles where she continues her role with D.A.R.E. America and stays busy with her growing family.
In August, 2009, Jill received a National Presidential Service Award for over 4,000 hours of service through her community service work in high school, through Lombardi Cancer Center and with D.A.R.E.
